COMPRESSOR-GUARD: a choice of technologies

Compressors supporting generation sites need lubrication matched to the compressor design, load and working temperature. The range progresses from mineral oils to synthetic formulations for more demanding operating conditions.

• COMPRESSOR-GUARD 2000: Group I mineral oils for suitable rotary screw, vane and reciprocating compressors.
• COMPRESSOR-GUARD 5000: Group II oils offering improved oxidation resistance for continuous operation.
• COMPRESSOR-GUARD 8000: synthetic PAO oils for high-temperature and high-load applications.
• COMPRESSOR-GUARD AIR 12000: synthetic ester (POE) oils developed for resistance to varnish and deposit formation.

Gas engines, CHP and diesel generators

GEN-GUARD is Rock Oil’s stationary gas-engine lubricant range. For natural-gas and other gas-fuelled generating installations, selection centres on the engine requirements, fuel composition, ash level and operating conditions.

Our technical team can advise on the product choice for the application, including combined heat and power installations and engines using biogas or other variable-quality fuels.

For diesel generators, TRUCK-GUARD provides mixed-fleet and low-ash engine-oil options, including suitable 10W-30, 10W-40 and 15W-40 formulations. Match the oil to the generator’s specification, emissions equipment and continuous-duty or standby service pattern.

ULTRA-HYD: control and auxiliary hydraulics

Hydraulic equipment across generation sites can require different fluid technologies, from maintenance plant to control and auxiliary systems.

• ULTRA-HYD HLP: mineral hydraulic lubrication for general applications.
• ULTRA-HYD HVI and HVI LL: high viscosity index options for changing temperatures, with Group II-based long-life performance in HVI LL.
• ULTRA-HYD LL, ZF and ZF LL: long-life and zinc-free options for systems with defined fluid requirements.
• ULTRA-HYD FLYBRID HVI: fully synthetic fluid for demanding hydraulic service.

Where fire risk or environmental requirements guide selection, the portfolio also includes fire-resistant fluids and biodegradable options. Our technical team can advise on compatibility and changeovers.

INDUS-GEAR: enclosed gear drives

Reduction gearboxes, conveyors and other auxiliary drive systems need oils selected around gear design, load, speed and temperature.

• INDUS-GEAR M CLP: fortified mineral industrial gear oils.
• INDUS-GEAR S PAO CLP: heavy-duty synthetic PAO industrial gear fluids.
• INDUS-GEAR S PAG: synthetic PAG fluids for equipment requiring this chemistry.

A broad selection of viscosity grades allows products to be matched to different gear systems. Ask our technical team about the correct technology and any planned change from the existing oil.

KOOL-GUARD: cooling-system protection

Generator engines and auxiliary cooling circuits depend on the correct coolant for heat transfer and corrosion protection. KOOL-GUARD offers concentrated and ready-to-use products across IAT, OAT and hybrid technologies.

The range includes MEG, XL, VCS, ELC, H-OAT and PSi-OAT options. Match the coolant chemistry, dilution and performance specification to the engine or system requirements.

Specialist fluids and maintenance products

COMPRESSOR-GUARD GAS PAG provides an option for gas compressors where gas dilution affects conventional lubricants. VACUUM-GUARD supports suitable vacuum pump systems.

For site maintenance, products include BRAKE KLEEN and SOC for cleaning, ROCKEZE for penetrating and moisture-displacing protection, WHITE SPRAY GREASE for suitable lubrication points and COPPER ANTI-SEIZE for appropriate assembly applications.

For bearings, motors, fans and pumps, we can advise on grease selection around speed, load, temperature and the existing lubrication system.
