Rock Oil has launched TRUCK-GUARD® MAX LV-FE 0W-20, a next-generation heavy-duty diesel engine oil developed to meet the latest Daimler Trucks DTFR 15C140 specification (formerly known as MB 228.71).
As the lowest heavy-duty viscosity grade available, this ultra-low viscosity oil delivers excellent fuel economy and supports OEMs in meeting strict CO₂ reduction targets. The formulation combines efficiency with durability, ensuring reliable protection for modern engines under the toughest operating conditions.
TRUCK-GUARD® MAX LV-FE 0W-20 offers:
- Fuel economy and CO₂ reduction – demonstrated superior results in the OM 471 FE1 test, outperforming both OEM limits and competitor 5W-20 lubricants.
- Extended durability – excellent shear stability, oxidation control and low volatility for long service intervals and reduced downtime.
- Outstanding cold-start protection – with excellent flow at –35 °C to safeguard components in extreme conditions.
- Advanced cleanliness – minimises sludge, varnish, and high-temperature deposits.
The introduction of this lubricant comes as the industry prepares for Euro VII legislation, expected from 2027. Euro VII will tighten pollutant emission limits and enforce further CO₂ reductions for heavy-duty vehicles. Oils such as TRUCK-GUARD® MAX LV-FE 0W-20 will be central to enabling the next generation of engine technologies, balancing ultra-low viscosity with uncompromising wear protection.
